PM Reduces VOD to Apology within 24 hours

Phnom Penh: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, has reduced the time for the VOD online news to apologize within 24 hours after an person asked the government to allow time for this media outlet to explain.

PM wrote on his Facebook page on February 12: "Now I have decided to reduce the apology time to 24 hours, set to 10:00 am on February 13, 2023."

In addition, he already ordered the Ministry of Information to cancel the license to end the broadcast of VOD by 10:00 on February 13, 2023 tomorrow, in case the online news did not apologize.

"If they accuse me of using power, I must use this power to fulfill their wishes."

VOD online newspaper on February 9, 2023 reported that it quoted government spokesman Phay Siphan as confirming the assistance to Turkey, was the signing of the aid agreement with Hun Manet instead of PM, is not wrong. This claim was rejected by the spokesperson of the Royal Government.

The report stated that: "the Cambodian government announced $ 100,000 in humanitarian aid to earthquake-stricken Turkey, with Hun Manet representing Prime Minister Hun Sen to sign the aid while Hun Sen is mourning the loss of his sister-in-law."
